2. Our objective
Our main aim is to write a book, which focuses on the opinions about American characteristics, like mentality, history, politics and traditions as well as psychological topics, such as motivation and success. But we don´t want to base these judgements on our own positions only.
Basically we want to do two things:
1) Interviewing Americans from several social classes. Consequently we are going to talk to both normal people on the street and famous, successful people.
2) Comparing the opinions of Germans and Americans about the USA. To do so, we´ve already done a lot of interviews in various German big cities, so that we´ll have the ability to make this comparison.
In order to create an interesting story out of this material, we want to combine the interviews with the description of our own experiences, we will make.
So on the one hand, the reader will have impressions about the cities we´ll visit, the adventures we´ll hurl ourselves into, but on the other hand the reader will also expand his or her horizon by reading the statements of so many different people.
In a nutshell: Our book won´t be just a simple factual report of a US-trip of 2 young men. It is rather going to be an evaluation of the events in this country, an evaluation by all types of people.
3. The way we will publish our work
Firstly, we want to promote our project as much as possible in advance.
We are going to do that by a Youtube-daybook, where we will keep everybody updated about our trip. Furthermore we have already contacted several weblogs, so that high numbers of visitors are guaranteed.
Moreover will use any kind of social network in order to reach as many people as possible.
And secondly, as soon as the book is written, we will get in contact with agents, publishers and the press to ask them for their support.
Fortunately, we already have some contacts, who will help us realizing our concepts.
